Retrofitted seating and new benches add ‘polish’ to Balbriggan town centre

St George’s Square Balbriggan
Cassidy Bros has recently completed a seat retrofitting and bench installation project to add polish to the new-look Balbriggan town centre in Dublin.

The project was part of Fingal County Council’s large-scale public realm plan to revitalise the area.

In collaboration with McKeon Construction, Cassidy Bros was tasked with retrofitting 15 cubed seating installations and delivering eight new benches in stunning polished concrete and stylish hardwood for St George’s Square.

The team at Cassidy Bros was provided with the architectural drawings for the space, which were followed diligently to meet the exact specifications.

The key challenge was to come up with a concrete mix to match the granite installations in the pre-existing surrounds of the site.

The product design also had to factor in heavy usage and ensure a very robust design to deter malicious or accidental defacement.

We are proud to be involved in this exciting project to help Fingal County Council and McKeon Construction to breathe new life into Balbriggan town centre. The project was straightforward from our point of view, but we are proud that the combination of polished concrete and hardwood materials has added a whole new level of aesthetics for this busy town centre.
